International Voicemail Roaming can ruin your holiday! If you have ever used voicemail while abroad, you will know how costly and difficult it can be to retrieve your messages while you're away. If you don't turn off conditional call forwarding and your phone is turned on whilst you are overseas, and you receive a call that you don't answer, your phone will divert the call back to Australia as an International roaming call call. If you then call in and listen to the voicemail, you will also be charged for a international roaming call. If you then return this call, you will be charged again at International Roaming rates. Given the above, it is easy to see why so many traveller's rack up enormous overseas roaming bills without even realising it. You can avoid these charges whilst overseas by enabling 'permanent call forwarding' before you leave. Whilst in this state, all calls to your number will automatically divert straight to voicemail instead of ringing. This
